About The Position

The Director, Merchandising leads category strategy and execution to drive business growth and customer satisfaction across multiple channels. The role oversees financial management, vendor relationships, and assortment planning while guiding a high-performing team. Using data-driven insights, the director shapes pricing, promotional strategies, and modular layouts to optimize category performance. The position collaborates across functions to support seamless execution and continuous improvement, fostering accountability, innovation, and operational excellence in support of value and customer-centric merchandising.

The Merchandising team develops strategies for Home solutions, focusing on functional storage and floorcare. It uses curated visual design, omnichannel assortment building, and customer insights, and partners with technology, marketing, and supply chain teams to anticipate customer needs and drive sustainable growth across the omnichannel ecosystem.

The position is based at 1700 SE 5th St, Bentonville, Arkansas. The annual salary range is $110,000 to $220,000, with additional annual or quarterly performance bonuses; certain positions may also include stock.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field and 5 years of experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or a related area; or 7 years of experience in those areas.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Expertise in category management, including strategy development and execution for complex categories.
• Financial management skills, including experience owning profit and loss responsibilities and budget forecasting.
• Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and drive engagement and performance.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and pricing.
• Skill in assortment strategy, modular layout decisions, and channel alignment.
• Ability to use data analytics and digital tools to inform merchandising decisions and drive business results.
• Business planning, influencing, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead category strategy development and execution for a highly complex merchandising portfolio, aligning with long-term business objectives.
