Director, Media Operations and Technology The Director of Media Operations and Technology is a leadership role responsible for advancing Amgen’s media operating model, platform ecosystem, and executional excellence across the commercial portfolio. This role ensures seamless delivery across HCP and DTC media investments while strengthening integration between media strategy, activation platforms and data delivery. Success in this position requires strong operational leadership, deep technical fluency across media and platforms, and the ability to evolve capabilities that support both current business priorities and future enterprise transformation. Reporting to the Head of Global Media, this leader partners closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Analytics, Compliance, IT, and agency partners. The role directly manages senior manager and serves as an enterprise owner of media processes, tools, and standards, driving scalability, compliance, and consistency across brands, channels, and partners. A core focus of the role is ownership of the media and corresponding platforms ecosystem. The Director is expected to bring hands‑on expertise across media planning, buying, activation, and measurement platforms including Prisma, SA360, ad servers such as DCM and Ad Managers, DSPs, publisher platforms, and media planning tools such as Guideline. The role also requires working knowledge of web and experience in tracking tools such as Adobe and Google Analytics, content and approval workflows including Veeva Promomats, and data governance platforms such as Claravine. In partnership with analytics and data teams, the Director enables effective use of enterprise media data environments and visualization tools including Snowflake, S3, and Tableau, ensuring media data is structured, accessible, and actionable. The Director oversees enterprise media tracking, governance, and execution standards across all channels, including naming conventions, tagging frameworks, platform access, and agency data requirements. This role ensures strong alignment between media activation systems and downstream measurement, reporting, and attribution, while leading agency onboarding and enablement to ensure consistent adherence to Amgen standards across data integrations, workflows, and platform usage. Beyond operational rigor, the role continuously evaluates the evolving media and technology landscape, identifying opportunities to modernize tools, processes, and partnerships. Working in close collaboration with Media Directors and enterprise partners, the Director helps shape Amgen’s approach to responsible media activation, privacy, and compliance, while driving ongoing education and capability development across teams. This position plays a critical role in strengthening Amgen’s enterprise media foundation, bringing clarity, discipline, and innovation to how media is planned, executed, measured, and scaled, while enabling long‑term transformation of the media function.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of media and/or marketing experience Or Master’s degree and 8 years of media and/or marketing experience Or Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of media and/or marketing experience
  • At least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in paid media/marketing with a focus on planning, buying, execution and measurement

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Amgen’s enterprise media operating model across HCP and DTC investments, ensuring disciplined execution, scalability, and consistency across brands, channels, and partners.
  • Lead media operations and platform strategy, serving as the enterprise owner for media technology platforms, activation tools, and operational workflows that connect media strategy, execution, and measurement.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership across media planning, buying, activation, and measurement platforms, including Prisma, SA360, DCM and Ad Managers, DSPs, publisher platforms, and media planning tools such as Guideline.
  • Partner with analytics, data, and IIT teams to operationalize media data within enterprise environments, leveraging platforms such as Snowflake, S3, and Tableau to enable structured, accessible, and actionable insights.
  • Establish and govern enterprise media standards across tracking, tagging, naming conventions, platform access, data schemas, and agency file requirements to support accurate reporting, attribution, and compliance.
  • Ensure strong alignment between media activation platforms and downstream measurement, reporting frameworks across internal teams and agency partners.
  • Lead agency onboarding, enablement, and ongoing governance, ensuring adherence to Amgen media standards, data integrations, platform workflows, and platform usage expectations.
  • Monitor the evolving media and technology landscape, identifying opportunities to modernize tools, processes, and partnerships while strengthening Amgen’s approach to privacy, compliance, and responsible media activation.
  • Drive continuous improvement, education, and change management across media operations and measurement practices to elevate enterprise media fluency and capability.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and innovation in support of Amgen’s long‑term media transformation.
