About The Position

The (USA) Director, Marketplace leads our efforts to optimize seller performance and assortment management while driving business growth through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires expertise in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and market trend analysis to influence key decisions and deliver impactful results. The Director serves as a trusted advisor, fostering partnerships and guiding teams to implement innovative solutions that align with organizational priorities. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to navigate complex challenges and advance Walmart’s marketplace objectives effectively. Fundamentally, your job is to drive results and marketplace adoption both by sellers and buyers. About the team: The Marketplace team drives sales by focusing on our customers, both our sellers and our buyers, by delivering exceptional merchandise at competitive prices with blazing fast speed. This group excels in strategic business planning, leveraging data analytics, and fostering strong partnerships across functions. Members collaborate to develop innovative sourcing and assortment strategies, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs. The team emphasizes effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving to influence key decisions and achieve business goals. By continuously improving processes and utilizing customer insights, the team supports sustainable growth and operational excellence within Walmart’s marketplace.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in business communication, including verbal and nonverbal techniques, to influence and build consensus in complex situations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across business units.
  • Demonstrated strategic business acumen, including the ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and competitive landscapes to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in leveraging analytics and customer insights to drive marketplace growth and optimize seller performance.
  • Experience in negotiation and stakeholder management to secure beneficial agreements and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to innovate and implement process improvements aligned with organizational goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and 5 years’ experience in Business Management, Marketing, Omni-Channel Merchandising, or a related area.
  • 7 years’ experience in Business Management, Marketing, Omni-Channel Merchandising, or a related area.
