CA$155,000 - CA$170,000Hybrid

About The Position

Shack Shine is a premium exterior home services brand with a growing franchise network across North America. This is the most senior marketing position in the business, reporting directly to the Managing Director. The role involves owning key marketing decisions, stewarding a dedicated ad fund for the Franchise Partner network, and partnering with leadership to drive Franchise Development marketing. The immediate mandate is focused and budget-efficient, designed for rapid scale. The ideal candidate is a sharp, analytical full-funnel marketer who can diagnose growth bottlenecks across the entire funnel—from top-of-funnel awareness to local performance marketing conversion—and deploy solutions. This role is expected to aggressively leverage modern AI workflows to multiply output and maximize reach. As the network grows, the ad fund, scope, and career trajectory will accelerate. The ad fund focuses on foundational brand-level marketing functions: website, SEO/AEO/GEO, creative, national campaigns, and vendor management. The role requires collaboration with the Franchise Advisory Council to review fund performance. The candidate must be a hybrid leader, comfortable presenting growth strategies to business owners, briefing freelance designers, and auditing AI-driven search performance. This role is simultaneously the strategist, executor, and stakeholder manager, building a track record for career elevation alongside the brand.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in marketing — agency, startup, franchise, or multi-location brand environments all relevant
  • Managed a marketing budget with real accountability for spend and results
  • Owned website operations at a practical level, not just strategy
  • Proven understanding of the evolving search landscape, with experience building or managing SEO, AEO, and GEO programs through external vendors with enough mastery to hold them accountable.
  • Hands-on experience embedding AI tools into marketing operations (e.g., content generation, workflow automation, campaign planning, or data analysis).
  • Managed freelance creative talent while maintaining brand standards
  • Worked with Google Ads and Analytics at an operational level
  • Communicated regularly with franchisees, clients, or advisory committees with real stakes in the outcome

Nice To Haves

  • You've worked in a franchise system and understand the franchisor-franchisee dynamic
  • You can point to a specific period of significant revenue growth and explain your role in it
  • You've managed a budget requiring external stakeholder approval and built the credibility to get it done consistently

Responsibilities

  • Own the customer journey end-to-end (B2C), continuously monitor and diagnose funnel drop-off, architect and test concrete solutions, and capitalize on opportunities to scale quickly.
  • Leverage storytelling, earned media, and brand positioning to grow and scale Shack Shine across North America, building marketing assets, campaigns, and funnels to attract, nurture, and convert prospective Franchise Partners.
  • Elevate the Shack Shine brand across North America by leveraging storytelling, customer strategy, and brand positioning; brief, manage, and quality-control freelancers; work with Operations to ensure brand compliance; and integrate AI tools to streamline content production and scale localized creative.
  • Manage the annual ad fund budget, present actuals and plans to the Franchise Advisory Committee (FAC), and be accountable for spending.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to franchise partners by developing tailored marketing plans, partnering with Operations to track performance metrics, and creating tools to coach teams on operational compliance and strategy execution.
  • Provide end-to-end ownership of the digital front door, including hosting, maintenance, UX, and conversion optimization through external vendors, and own the vision and roadmap for the future.
  • Set the strategy for SEO, AEO, and GEO, source vendors, and hold them accountable, optimizing the digital footprint for traditional search engines, AI answer engines (AEO), and generative search experiences (GEO).
  • Manage a focused awareness budget for national campaigns to set the foundation for scaled operations.
  • Act as the central authority over preferred vendor relationships, Google Ads and Analytics structures, and access control across the network.
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for the Franchise Partner network, FAC, and Operations team, building trust through transparency, regular communication, and results.
