ModusLinkOrlando, FL

About The Position

ModusLink is a global supply chain and eCommerce solutions company operating across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. We help the world's leading brands move products, data, and value across borders. Our people are the engine — and we're investing in how they learn, grow, and lead. We're hiring our first Director, Learning & Development to build the L&D function as a true capability engine for our global workforce of ~1,200 employees, contractors, and temps. This is a build role. You'll own the strategy, the systems, the content, and the results. If you like green-field work, operational scale, and executive visibility, keep reading. You'll report to the SVP, Human Resources and partner closely with the Head of Talent Management, Regional HR Leaders, and business leaders across manufacturing, supply chain, and corporate functions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive L&D experience, including 5+ years leading global or multi-region L&D functions.
  • Proven track record building L&D from the ground up in an operationally intensive, multi-site environment (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or similar preferred).
  • Deep expertise in instructional design, blended learning, and adult learning theory.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and administering enterprise LMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and launch leadership development programs at scale.
  • Strong data literacy — you speak in learning analytics, capability metrics, and ROI, not seat-time.
  • Executive presence. You can hold your own in a steering committee and translate learning into business language.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy. Own the global L&D roadmap, operating model, and governance. Decide what "trained" means at ModusLink — and make it stick.
  • Deliver ERP training. Lead end-to-end learning for our Oracle Fusion go-live: role-based curriculum, blended delivery, SIT/UAT/hypercare enablement, and capability sign-off before go-live.
  • Own the LMS. Run Steel University (our LMS) as a real platform — configuration, integrations, reporting, and ISO/RBA-compliant compliance tracking.
  • Build leaders. Design and launch leadership, management, and supervisor development programs that create a real internal pipeline.
  • Scale through others. Stand up train-the-trainer programs so site leaders and SMEs can deliver locally without diluting the standard.
  • Govern the knowledge base. Establish a single source of truth across SharePoint and the LMS — governed, searchable, and used at the point of work.
  • Measure what matters. Move L&D from attendance metrics to capability, performance, and business-outcome metrics. Report to the executive team on it.
  • Communicate globally. Manage multi-language, multi-region rollout of learning programs across the US, Netherlands, Ireland, Czech Republic, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Australia.
  • Run the function. Manage vendor partners and own the L&D budget.
