About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals. The Director - IT will participate as a member of the senior management team in governance processes related to the organization's architecture, telecommunications, networks, programming, media, and desktops. This position requires conducting research to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, analyzing and recommending technology standards to maintain a competitive edge, and providing cost-effective solutions to technical problems. The role involves managing technical services budgets, developing business cases for technology spending, defining requirements for new technology implementations, and ensuring the continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements and system performance. Compliance with gaming regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley, and PCI rules is essential. The Director - IT will also be responsible for disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and managing the technology project portfolio. Additionally, this role involves reviewing and negotiating hardware and software contracts, building vendor relationships, and ensuring adherence to corporate procedures and internal control policies.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment.
  • Meets with all supervisors and managers on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Ensures all budgeted costs are met.
  • Ensures all disciplinary actions abide by guidelines set forth by Human Resources.
  • Participates as a member of the senior management team in governance processes of the organization's architecture, telecommunications, networks, programming, media, and desktops.
  • Conducts research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable about industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations.
  • Analyzes, recommends, and improves upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market.
  • Provides resolution to technical problems in a cost-effective manner.
  • Assesses and communicates risks associated with technology-related investments and purchases.
  • Working with corporations, develops, tracks, and controls the technical services annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations.
  • Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives.
  • Defines requirements for new technology implementations and communicate them to key business stakeholders.
  • Ensures continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of systems, programs, and equipment performance.
  • Ensures equipment and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Liaise with, and adhere to, all gaming regulations.
  • Defines and communicates corporate procedures, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating new network systems, equipment, software, and other technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with established internal control policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI rules and regulations.
  • Ensures continuity of service by defining and testing disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Recommends, prioritizes, and controls projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
  • Reviews hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and purse master agreements to capitalize on economics of scale.
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
  • Oversee all technology operations and evaluate according to established goals.
