The role demands simultaneous fluency in Brand Strategy and Connections Strategy, holding them together to function as a unified force across earned, owned, and paid channels, including social and influencer partnerships, and sales enablement. The Director will transform strategic direction into clear, big ideas and briefs grounded in buyer insight and media potential, collaborating with creative, content, experience, and media teams to ensure coherence and inspire innovative thinking. This individual will serve as a bold strategic voice, highlighting the connections within the work and their significance.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years strategy experience with demonstrated fluency in creative strategy, content strategy, experience strategy AND media strategy
  • Proven ability to develop and communicate breakthrough strategic thinking, not just execute briefs
  • Track record working on B2B brands in complex strategic environments
  • Experience working across creative, content, experience and media functions
  • Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders in strategic conversations
  • Understanding of how ideas propagate and land in culture—not just single-moment performance
  • Ability to hold multiple perspectives, audiences, and signals in mind simultaneously
  • Comfort moving between strategic thinking and tactical execution, between 30,000 feet and the work itself
  • Understanding of signal stacking—how audience signals cluster to create moments of greatest impact
  • Genuine curiosity about how creative and experience thinking complement and inform each other
  • Evidence that you think about systems, not just campaigns
  • Evidence that you learn from people and disciplines different from your own

Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic direction into powerful Catalyzing Ideas and briefs grounded in creative insight and contextual possibility
  • Build the strategic rationale—not just what we're doing, but why it matters and how it moves the business
  • Develop brand worlds that breathe life into ideas—articulating character, conviction, and edges with specificity
  • Help creative teams uncover the strategic insight that should drive their work. Identify how ideas work across the full B2B lifecycle. Help media teams see how that idea scales. Understand how ideas need to live in social and influencer contexts
  • Develop content and sales enablement strategies that support the buying experience – going beyond the expected to elevate the brand a thought leader in the category while optimizing for LLMs
  • Identify WHERE ideas reach the right buying groups and HOW they show up in context—across paid media, owned channels, social platforms, and influencer partnerships
  • Research and surface buyer signals that inform where and when strategy becomes relevant and urgent
  • Understand signal stacking—how multiple signals cluster to create moments of greatest impact
  • Help teams understand how their work feeds the whole and why that connection matters
  • Work with creative, content, media, social, and influencer partners to ensure strategy translates consistently across all touchpoints
  • Help creative teams understand the experience strategy and what's possible. Help media teams understand creative strategy and what ideas demand. Bridge social and influencer thinking into the broader strategic conversation.
  • Bridge creative and media conversations so both disciplines understand they're working from the same foundation
  • Think all languages simultaneously—you are fluent in creative strategy, experience strategy, content strategy AND media strategy, weaving them together
  • Brief brand partners and internal stakeholders on strategy with clarity and confidence
  • Be a reliable strategic voice partners turn to when asking "how should this idea work?" or "how does this fit what we're doing?"
  • Engage with senior team to gather input and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities
  • Support team leadership by modeling integrated thinking
  • Mentor junior strategists, helping them understand systems thinking, not just tactical execution
  • Ask good questions that help teams think beyond their discipline
  • Contribute to creating psychological safety where people challenge siloed thinking
  • Help monitor how strategy translates in market and gather feedback for refinement
  • Support measurement that tracks whether the system is working, using data as feedback not just reporting
  • Contribute insights on how ideas are propagating and whether signals are clustering as predicted
