About The Position

As Director, Mid-Market Marketing you will own the global B2B marketing strategy for our mid-market advertisers within our SMB audience, building scalable, data driven solutions that drive retention and revenue growth. You will also lead the development and execution of account-based marketing strategies for high-value Mid-Market accounts, ensuring tight alignment with Sales and XFN partners. In this role you will partner closely with cross-functional partners to align on priorities, ways of working and integrated marketing plans, while building and growing a high-performing Mid-Market Marketing team. This role requires a strategic leader and operator who can act as a player-coach: setting the long term vision and operating model for Mid-Market, managing resources and developing the capabilities of your team, while personally leading critical workstreams.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in business marketing, with at least 10 years of experience specifically in Mid-Market or SMB Marketing.
  • Proven experience in building teams, capabilities and programs from the ground up, ideally at a similar or competitive platform to Pinterest.
  • Demonstrates mastery in changing or affecting the actions, behaviors, or perspectives of others without directly forcing those changes to happen.
  • Moves the function forward through a mature decision-making process by gathering and circulating data with key partners, weighing alternatives explicitly, and considering risks.
  • Willingly makes tough decisions and difficult trade-offs on behalf of the business.
  • Navigates uncertain situations and provides direction and frameworks to the function that minimize delay.
  • Effectively manages the stress that accompanies transitions and change and helps others adapt productively.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow the Mid-Market Marketing team by designing the right organization structure, hiring top talent, and investing in mentorship and professional development to help the team thrive.
  • Set the vision and marketing strategy for Mid-Market advertisers at Pinterest, in partnership with XFN teams.
  • Lead and execute key Mid-Market marketing workstreams, including building a foundational lifecycle engine (spanning email, in-product education, business site, etc) and other marketing experiments to drive retention and revenue growth, with the ability to extend successful programs to priority SMB segments where appropriate.
  • Design, launch, and scale account-based marketing programs for priority Mid-Market accounts, partnering closely with Sales, PMM, and Growth Marketing to align audience selection, messaging, and measurement.
  • Champion a test and learn mindset across the team, encouraging the team to run experiments, iterate quickly and scale what works.
  • Build tracking mechanisms that create an environment of accountability for the working team's progression.
  • Integrate velocity within the function by mobilizing the organization, removing obstacles, and enabling teams to focus on achieving high-quality results for the most important initiatives.
  • Partner with and influence executive teams and senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, PMM, Growth Marketing, and Sales to align on strategy, integrated plans, and ways of working.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate efficiency, reduce production timelines, and free up bandwidth for higher-order strategic work.
  • Utilize AI-assisted analytics and reporting tools to surface insights on marketing performance, identify trends across campaigns and channels, and make faster, smarter decisions about where to invest resources.
  • Build a team culture that treats AI as a core working partner in the planning and measurement process.
