About The Position

Lone Peak Insurance Company (LPIC) is a Utah-domiciled P&C carrier that underwrites contractual liability insurance policies backing vehicle service contracts administered by Alpha Warranty Services. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the carrier, including licensing, statutory filings, regulatory correspondence, ERM documentation, board preparation, and outside advisor coordination. It is an execution role with authority over carrier operations and will also involve operational projects across Alpha Warranty and Cadence Innovations Group. The work is varied and touches almost every part of how a specialty insurer operates.

Requirements

Statutory accounting experience, including preparation or review of NAIC annual and quarterly statements for a P&C carrier.
State licensing and DOI filing experience, including managing admission applications, responding to regulator inquiries, and tracking multi-state compliance obligations.
5+ years working at or directly with a P&C insurance carrier or reinsurer (agency and brokerage experience does not substitute).
Strong written communication skills for producing memos, policies, regulatory responses, and board materials.

Nice To Haves

ERM or compliance program experience, including building or maintaining a risk register, running a compliance committee, or preparing ERM documentation for a regulator or rating agency.
Reinsurance operations knowledge, including cession reporting, trust administration, or assumed/ceded premium accounting.
Experience in a small-carrier environment, comfortable operating with minimal infrastructure and broad responsibility.
AM Best exposure, including participation in a rating process, preparation of materials for an analyst meeting, or experience at a rated carrier.
CPA or insurance designation (CPCU, AINS, ARe) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage state licensing and expansion, including coordinating filings, custodial agreements, and DOI correspondence with outside counsel, and managing the multi-state admission pipeline.
Manage the preparation and filing process for quarterly and annual statutory financial statements with the NAIC and state regulators, including gathering data, coordinating with outside accountants, and reviewing drafts.
Maintain the enterprise risk management (ERM) program, including the risk register, assigning owners, running the quarterly review cycle, and documenting risk appetite and tolerance thresholds.
Support the board and advisory board by helping prepare meeting materials, recording minutes, collecting conflict-of-interest statements, and coordinating advisory board scheduling.
Administer compliance, including managing compliance software, regulatory correspondence, and examination support.
Handle routine reporting and settlement mechanics with reinsurance partners.
Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for regulatory counsel, AM Best consultants, independent actuaries, and outside accountants.
Provide operational project support across Alpha Warranty Services and Cadence Innovations Group, including vendor contract reviews, policy documentation, process improvements, and finance team projects as directed by the CFO.
Help build redundancy and documentation into finance and compliance processes.
