About The Position

FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a strategic and technically strong Director, Inland Marine to lead the growth and profitability of its Inland Marine lines of business. This role involves collaborating with various departments to shape the future of FCCI's Inland Marine portfolio, support agency relationships, and develop underwriting talent. The position can be based in an FCCI regional office or remotely. The selected candidate will manage portfolio performance, develop underwriting standards and pricing guidelines, act as the highest level of field Inland Marine underwriting authority, partner with IT on technology solutions, monitor market trends, and serve as a technical resource for Inland Marine underwriting. Building and maintaining strong relationships with agency partners and representing FCCI in the marketplace are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Strategic and technically strong leadership
  • Experience in leading growth and profitability of Inland Marine lines of business
  • Ability to collaborate with Corporate Underwriting, Regional leadership, Distribution, Operations, and IT
  • Skills in managing portfolio performance (profitability, rate adequacy, retention, new business growth)
  • Experience in developing and maintaining underwriting standards, pricing guidelines, and best practices
  • Ability to serve as the highest level of field Inland Marine underwriting authority
  • Experience in partnering with IT and business stakeholders for technology solutions
  • Ability to monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging risks
  • Strong technical resource for Inland Marine underwriting

Responsibilities

  • Manage portfolio performance, including profitability, rate adequacy, retention, and new business growth.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting standards, pricing guidelines, and best practices in partnership with Corporate Underwriting, Regional leadership, Distribution, and Operations.
  • Serve as the highest level of field Inland Marine underwriting authority for the organization.
  • Partner with Information Technology and business stakeholders to develop and implement technology solutions that support online Inland Marine products and business growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging risks to recommend product and underwriting enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted technical resource for Inland Marine underwriting across FCCI.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and represent FCCI in the marketplace.
