About The Position

FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a strategic and technically strong Director, Inland Marine to lead the growth and profitability of its Inland Marine lines of business. This role involves collaborating with various departments such as Corporate Underwriting, Regional leadership, Distribution, Operations, and IT to shape the future of FCCI's Inland Marine portfolio. The position also supports agency relationships and develops underwriting talent across the organization. This position can be based in an FCCI regional office or be remote.

Requirements

  • Strategic and technically strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in managing portfolio performance (profitability, rate adequacy, retention, new business growth).
  • Ability to develop and maintain underwriting standards, pricing guidelines, and best practices.
  • Experience serving as a high-level underwriting authority.
  • Experience partnering with IT and business stakeholders on technology solutions.
  • Ability to monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging risks.
  • Strong technical resource capabilities in Inland Marine underwriting.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners.
  • Market representation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage portfolio performance, including profitability, rate adequacy, retention, and new business growth.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting standards, pricing guidelines, and best practices in partnership with Corporate Underwriting, Regional leadership, Distribution, and Operations.
  • Serve as the highest level of field Inland Marine underwriting authority for the organization.
  • Partner with Information Technology and business stakeholders to develop and implement technology solutions that support online Inland Marine products and business growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging risks to recommend product and underwriting enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted technical resource for Inland Marine underwriting across FCCI.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and represent FCCI in the marketplace.
