About The Position

The Immunology Strategic Operations Director will report and work closely with the SVP Immunology and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and develop strategic and operational opportunities. In this position, you will prepare key commercial meetings and deliverables. Define processes and align contents (e.g., CSM, BR, ELT, LRP, PLN) and lead cross TA ad-hoc projects with each franchise brand teams, Finance, Medical, R&D, Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Market Analytics and Business Insights (MABI), Sales Training, Sales Force Effectiveness, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other cross franchise teams to gain input into developing strategic and operational projects. Strategic Excellence Lead key commercial on-market strategic initiatives that capture additional value in short term (12-24 months) across franchises as well as launch readiness for late-stage assets. Lead key strategic initiatives across 1MM Team that identifies longer-term growth (e.g., Strategy LRP, BD assessment, Roadmap and Brand planning) Operational Effectiveness / Chief of Staff to SVP of the BU Executing opportunities to drive operational effectiveness within and across business units with key cross-functional partners, e.g., Finance and HR Facilitate effective and collaborative cross-functional engagements to optimize AbbVie capabilities, e.g., with Integrated Brand Teams, Customer Experience, Medical, Compliance HEOR, Business Technology Solutions, etc. Lead development of business and operational reviews to senior Commercial and Executive leadership The Director must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority, while building a collaborative, integrated approach across the organization. Important skills for this role required are outstanding problem-solving mind-set, strong communication skills (oral and written), top presentation/ppt skills, interpersonal skills, flexibility, prioritization, and sense of urgency. This position will support data analytical execution, creating strong narratives on insights and communication with key stakeholders and executive leadership as well as provide operational support to the SVP of 1MM BU, as his Immunology Strategic Operations Director.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required, MBA or advanced degree (PhD, MD) preferred.
  • At least 5-10 years of professional industry experience with a successful track record in management consulting (at least 2+ years), pipeline management, or pharmaceutical marketing with strong analytical and strategic marketing skills.
  • Previous experience in pharma R&D, Corporate Strategy, Brand Management, and/or Marketing
  • Understanding and/or experience with Immunology products both inline and in development.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including senior executives.
  • Strong problem solving and strategic skills as well as demonstrated learning agility.
  • Strong ability to communicate ideas & make the complex easy for others to understand.
  • Good financial acumen with an understanding of P&L drivers
  • Self-starter, and proactively driving projects toward successful completion.
  • Experience with matrix-based teams and project management.
  • Works collaboratively and proactively, maintains high degree of planning, coordination & project management skills, demonstrated ability to problem solve & resolve conflict with diplomacy.
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functional partners outside of immediate team.
