About The Position

The Director II Commercial Sales/Acct Mgmt. is responsible for directing sales and/or account management retention activities for large complex accounts with medical and specialty products. Typically directs sales and/or renewal activities with annual Premium Equivalents between $500 million and $1.0 billion and membership greater than 100,000 contracts. This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Requirements

  • BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction by utilizing data to guide decisions, forecast outcomes, and identify improvement areas.
  • Establishes performance expectations and regularly reviews progress to ensure profitable growth.
  • Develops strategies and executes sales plans to achieve membership growth and financial goals.
  • Prioritizes coaching to develop skills that enhance team performance and demonstrates leadership by motivating team to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Develops sales and marketing plans and may assist in the development of compensation plans.
  • Leads the team to ensure achievement of sales production and deliverables for assigned market areas.
  • Establishes relationships with functional areas within the company and collaborates effectively with other departments to align sales with broader company goals.
  • Defines sales and renewal targets for the team, communicates a clear, compelling vision that aligns with the company’s long-term objectives and manages an effective goal setting process.
  • Develops and manages sales and business development strategies.
  • Monitors the market performance of products and assesses competitors' activities within assigned office market area.
  • Develops recommendations on marketplace dynamics.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
