About The Position

The Human Resources Director will lead the transformation of the workforce to match the changing business environment that allows for increased visibility into recruitment, training, performance, and retention. The Human Resources Director leads, directs, plans, and coordinates our organization's human resources activities, policies, and staff to align with strategic business goals. The role oversees talent acquisition, reception, onboarding /orientation, training, compensation, benefits, compliance, and employee relations while cultivating a positive culture and mitigating risk. Able to develop authentic internal and external relationships at all levels and partner with management to solve business problems related to people. This role is responsible for assisting in building a high-performance organization where expectations are clear, leadership behavior is consistent, and outcomes are measurable. The focus is on aligning people, structure, and execution with business performance. It is a role focused on performance systems, leadership consistency, and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Focus on continuous improvement (CI) and self-education, streamlining HR processes while actively updating their own skill set regarding employment law, technology, as well as internal and external industry trends.

  • Maintain professional appearance at all times.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of proven Human Resources experience preferably in distribution, warehousing, manufacturing or sales environments.
  • Demonstrable success ideally in a broad HR generalist or supervisory role.
  • SHRM or PHR certification required, SPHR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with a HRIS. (PayCom)
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive consistency in administering company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as they relate to safety and employment laws and regulations.
  • Leads and manages 4 or more direct reports.
  • Coaches’ direct reports on opportunities to improve utilizing clear, concise feedback.
  • Has the ability to discipline direct reports and assist other Managers with coaching their direct reports on performance-based issues or violations of company policies.
  • Oversee employment law compliance and compliance with regulatory concerns.
  • Consult with legal counsel as needed to mitigate risk and strategically respond to employee relations and matters that may have legal implications.
  • Employee orientation, development, and training.
  • Company-wide committee facilitation.
  • Company, employee and community communication.
  • Compensation and benefits administration.
  • Employee services and counseling.
  • Development of the Human Resources department.
  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Overall talent management strategy including workforce planning; recruiting; hiring; training and development; performance planning, management, improvement; and succession planning.
  • Responsible for recruiting, staffing and turnover analysis.
  • Organization development, change management initiatives, and company-wide environment for employees.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in policy development, documentation, and implementation.
  • Oversee Benefits administration and is the point of contact for our vendors.
  • Point of contact for our HRIS (Paycom) system.
  • Oversee employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health.
  • Oversee risk management and insurance
  • Outstanding public speaking skills
  • Managing external employment agencies, recruiters, and temporary staffing agencies.
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of all human resources efforts.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
