About The Position

The Director, HEDIS and Quality Performance, develops and executes enterprise strategy to improve HEDIS performance across all lines of business, with particular emphasis on measures contributing to Medicare Advantage Star Ratings. The role serves as the organization’s enterprise subject matter expert and strategic architect for HEDIS, translating CMS and NCQA requirements, performance data, market intelligence, and industry best practices into strategies that improve clinical quality, member outcomes, provider performance, operational effectiveness, and HEDIS results. The Director provides expertise across HEDIS measurement, quality improvement, data acquisition and completeness, provider performance, intervention design, audit readiness, and the transition to digital quality measurement. Leading through influence in a highly matrixed organization, the Director owns and coordinates cross-functional plans, establishes performance expectations, and drives follow-through and shared accountability. The position oversees a sizeable team of direct and indirect reports and collaborates with numerous stakeholders. It also builds internal HEDIS capability through talent development, stronger measure expertise, and sustainable processes that reduce reliance on individual employees, manual workarounds, and fragmented institutional knowledge.

  • Oversee the full HEDIS lifecycle, including data acquisition, supplemental data, chart retrieval, abstraction, validation, audit readiness, submission, and the transition to digital quality measurement.
  • Monitor performance across measures, providers, markets, products, and populations; identify gaps, risks, and opportunities; and ensure timely corrective action.
