About The Position

The Director-Health Impact is responsible for working with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders across the IU Health system to develop and direct IU Health's health equity 5–10-year system-wide strategic plan to deliver equitable access, experience and outcomes to diverse patient populations and the communities that we serve. This director leads the development and execution of programs and activities that support equitable care, with a clinical portfolio that focuses on, but is not limited to, Cardiovascular Health Equity and Infant and Maternal Health Equity. This leader guides the implementation, execution, and outcomes of a program of work aimed at measuring and detecting disparities and combating health care inequities with evidence-based interventions and performance improvement strategies to drive more equitable patient access and/or experience. The Director-Health Impact is accountable for the development, recruitment, and provides direction to the health equity team to successfully execute the health equity strategies and initiatives and their financial management. This leader monitors and ensures programs are properly coded and reimbursed. The director works closely with the Community Health team to develop relationships with community health partners as well as creates and fosters strategic partnerships. This director seeks outside funding to promote programming across the state through the wise use of scarce resources and ensures performance metrics are incorporated into transformational improvement efforts, utilizing A3 thinking and tools. This leader develops, monitors, and reports on operational performance, trending analysis, and special projects related to growth and financial performance while representing our clinical health equity efforts externally across the organization and in various internal leadership settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4 years of people leader experience.
  • Knowledge in public health, strategic planning and partnerships, workforce engagement and performance, metrics and A3 thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Clinical background or training preferred.
  • Experience leading clinical operations or clinical quality improvement preferred.

Responsibilities
