About The Position

This role owns the Go-To-Market (GTM) compensation strategy for a global organization of over 500 participants. The Director will be responsible for setting the plan, quota, and crediting design that guides how Redis compensates its customer-facing teams. The position is based in the SF Bay Area and operates on a hybrid work model, reporting to the VP of GTM Operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in sales compensation, including direct ownership of plan design.
  • Experience in multiple B2B technology sales environments such as SaaS, cloud, or infrastructure software.
  • Experience managing compensation programs for several hundred participants across various roles and regions.
  • Proven track record of managing the end-to-end annual planning cycle and rollout, including quota methodology and crediting rules.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including plan cost analysis, attainment scenario modeling, and payout curve development.
  • Ability to present and defend compensation plan recommendations to the CRO, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual sales compensation planning cycle, including plan design, pay mix, accelerators, and cost modeling, from Annual Operating Plan (AOP) inputs through Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Finance approval.
  • Lead the plan rollout for over 500 participants across the Americas (AMER), Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. This includes creating plan documents, managing participant communication, and enabling managers.
  • Oversee quota setting and allocation methodology, as well as territory crediting, splits, and overlay rules, in collaboration with Sales Operations, Finance, and sales leadership.
  • Govern Sales Performance Incentive Fund (SPIFFs), exceptions, and disputes by defining policy, managing the approval process, and maintaining an accurate audit trail.
  • Measure the effectiveness of compensation plans through analysis of attainment distribution, cost of sales, and payout data. Present design recommendations to GTM and Finance leadership.
