Director, Global Sales Compensation

About The Position

This role owns the GTM compensation strategy for a global organization of over 500 participants. The Director will be responsible for setting the plan, quota, and crediting design that drives how Redis compensates its customer-facing teams. This position is based in the SF Bay Area and operates on a hybrid work model. The role reports to the VP, GTM Operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of sales compensation experience, including ownership of plan design.
  • Experience across multiple B2B technology sales environments (SaaS, cloud, or infrastructure software).
  • Ownership of compensation programs with several hundred participants across multiple roles and regions.
  • Track record of managing the annual planning cycle and rollout end-to-end, including quota methodology and crediting rules.
  • Strong financial modeling skills for plan cost, attainment scenarios, and payout curves.
  • Ability to present and defend plan recommendations to the CRO, CFO, and executive leadership.

  • Experience with Xactly Incent and Salesforce.
  • Comp design for consumption-based, marketplace, or partner-led revenue.
  • Prior people management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual sales compensation planning cycle, including plan design, pay mix, accelerators, and cost modeling, from AOP inputs through CRO and Finance approval.
  • Lead plan rollout for over 500 participants across AMER, EMEA, and APAC, encompassing plan documents, participant communication, and manager enablement.
  • Oversee quota setting and allocation methodology, along with territory crediting, split, and overlay rules, in collaboration with Sales Ops, Finance, and sales leadership.
  • Govern SPIFFs, exceptions, and disputes by defining policy, managing the approval process, and maintaining an audit trail.
  • Measure plan effectiveness through analysis of attainment distribution, cost of sales, and payout, and present design recommendations to GTM and Finance leadership.
