About The Position

As the Director of Global Process Safety, reporting to the Sr. Director - EHSQ, you will develop and ensure the implementation of corporate level strategies, programs, and procedures to implement Risk Based Process Safety (RBPS). Additionally, you will provide continuous improvement toward world class EHS performance, and integration of RBPS principles and activities within the overall business process. Requirements

  • BS Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years process safety management experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Experience with PHA/LOPA, Regulatory & Standards, Risk Management & Incident Investigations and/or Management Systems (Benchmark/Gensuite etc)
  • Strong analytical, strategic, organizational, reporting, presentation, and communication skills

  • Global experience in process safety management in the petrochemical industry

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate global network of process safety SME’s
  • Facilitate functional safety steering team (FSST)
  • Support operations with a focus on identifying process safety related hazards, compliance obligations and assessing risks
  • Leads and directs the development and implementation of process safety, chemical facility standards and management systems assuring the foundation for regulatory compliance, management of risk, training/competency development, program consistency and continual performance improvement
  • Provide PS leadership and technical support to capital projects, existing and R&D operations and incident investigations
  • Accountable for the establishment of key process safety related performance indicators and metrics and standardizes & coordinates the regular reporting of these metrics
  • Oversee and support response to EHS and process safety related recommendations from risk management / insurance carrier audits and inspections. Integrate corrective actions within corporate and site business processes and management systems where appropriate
  • Assist in, and/or conduct RBPS assessments of SI Group facilities, acquisition candidates, and toll manufacturers
