About The Position

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is a division within RBC’s Technology and Operations group, dedicated to supporting a wide range of business partners. The Director, Global ERP Platform will play a critical role in the successful implementation and management of a cloud-based, greenfield enterprise-wide Finance ERP platform. The role will lead a team of professionals to ensure the successful delivery of their assigned workstreams, while collaborating with stakeholders to align with the global ERP strategy. This position is ideal for a seasoned ERP leader with deep expertise in financial systems, technical integration, and program delivery, who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of ERP implementation experience, leading large-scale, multi-entity Finance ERP rollouts in global financial institutions, especially Tier-1 banks.
  • Expertise in ERP Subledger, General Ledger, event-based accounting processes, and SaaS ERP platforms (SAP or Oracle), including integration with enterprise GL systems.
  • Proven success in ERP governance, global template design, and entity rollouts, with hands-on leadership in program workstreams (design, configuration, integration, reporting, data migration).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, influencing senior executives and building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering cloud-based ERP solutions from design to production support, with deep knowledge of financial accounting principles and event-based accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams of consultants, developers, and integration specialists in global financial services environments.
  • Knowledge of architecture aspects (business, data, cyber security), SDLC lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and prior experience working with global/distributed teams.
  • Holds undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree (preferably in Business or Finance)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the greenfield implementation of a Finance ERP module (Subledger, General Ledger, Non-Product) ensuring alignment with the global ERP design template.
  • Drive the execution of specific workstreams, leveraging lessons learned to accelerate adoption and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to establish delivery standards, methodologies, and KPIs for consistent program execution.
  • Ensure adherence to ERP governance and the integrity of the global template design within assigned areas.
  • Lead the design, configuration, and integration of ERP modules and capabilities.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for functional and technical solutions within assigned areas, ensuring alignment with enterprise requirements for event-based accounting, subledger, and GL processes.
  • Manage data integration, migration, and custom development for assigned workstreams, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers, and integration specialists to deliver robust, enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Enforce ERP governance to uphold the integrity of the global template design across all entity rollouts.
  • Ensure the final ERP solution is scalable and performant to meet the demands of the enterprise.
  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering assigned ERP workstreams, fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to align on priorities, strategic trade-offs, and business strategies within assigned areas.
  • Ensure deliverables meet business outcomes and enable value creation for the organization.
  • Resolve complex issues and ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture Governance within assigned workstreams.
  • Provide regular updates to the program leadership on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Set direction and vision for team members, defining deliverables and key performance indicators/metrics for assigned areas.
  • Foster a high-performance environment where diversity is valued, and team members are treated with respect and dignity.
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure they have the skills, processes, and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
  • Assess current state capabilities and align team members to future transformational roles and development plans.
  • Contribute to succession planning for key positions within the ERP program.
