About The Position

Revolution Medicines is a global, commercial-stage oncology company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering innovative medicines for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. Leveraging its differentiated RAS(ON) tri-complex inhibitor platform, the company is advancing a broad, integrated portfolio of oral RAS(ON) inhibitors designed to directly target the active, cancer-driving state of RAS. Founded on rigorous scientific inquiry and a willingness to challenge long-held assumptions, Revolution Medicines is committed to changing the trajectory of disease for patients with RAS-addicted cancers worldwide. Our people are united by a shared way of working: follow the science, challenge assumptions, act with urgency, and hold ourselves to a high standard of rigor—all in service of patients. The Opportunity: RevMed is seeking a hands-on, globally minded finance leader to establish and lead the Global Finance capability supporting international expansion. This role owns the strategy, operating model, and governance framework for finance launch and interim operations across new international markets and evolving global finance operations. Reporting to the VP, Finance, this person will lead finance readiness for new jurisdictions, provide interim financial leadership from legal entity incorporation through establishment of the local operating model, and direct global controllership across accounting, reporting, controls, and business process governance. This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution. The successful candidate will build playbooks, run cross-functional workstreams, manage local service providers, ensure close and statutory readiness, coordinate with business leaders across regions, and connect local teams to Corporate Accounting, SEC Reporting, SOX, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR/Payroll, FP&A, and other stakeholders. RevMed needs a strategic, hands-on leader who can appropriately move between setting direction, influencing senior stakeholders, and executing directly during periods of market launch, transition, or limited local resourcing, while ensuring new markets are launched with practical, compliant, and scalable finance processes.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including demonstrated responsibility for setting strategy and leading complex global, multi-entity, or multi-functional finance operations.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a public company with SOX-controlled environment.
  • Demonstrated experience setting strategy and leading complex change across multiple finance sub-functions, regions, or business units.
  • A strong business partner who can identify risks and opportunities by staying close to local teams.
  • A connector who knows when to solve an issue directly and when to bring in Technical Accounting, SEC, SOX, Tax, Treasury, Legal, or FP&A.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including the ability to manage dependencies, drive accountability, and bring structure to ambiguous situations.
  • Experience influencing executive-level stakeholders and managing critical external relationships, including service providers, auditors, advisors, or regulators.
  • Hands-on; willingness to execute directly when process maturity or local resourcing is limited.
  • A practical controls leader who understands public-company expectations without over-engineering.
  • A global thinker who can balance consistency, scalability, and local-market requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global finance strategy and cross-functional operating model for entry into new countries and jurisdictions, from initial planning through operational go-live.
  • Serve as the U.S.-based interim finance lead for new markets after legal entity incorporation and before a local finance lead or local service provider model is fully operational.
  • Partner with finance leadership to set and execute the strategy, priorities, investment needs, and success measures for scalable international finance operations, with accountability for readiness, risk mitigation, and sustainable transition outcomes across multiple markets.
  • Lead strategic change initiatives affecting multiple Finance sub-functions and international business partners, ensuring stakeholder alignment, clear decision-making, adoption of new processes, and sustainable execution.
  • Own and continuously improve RevMed’s global finance launch playbook, including workplans, timelines, dependencies, RACI matrices, control points, templates, escalation paths, and lessons learned.
  • Represent Global Finance in critical negotiations and decision-making with executive leaders, key service providers, auditors, advisors, and other external stakeholders, influencing outcomes that affect long-term business readiness and risk.
  • Lead the transition from interim U.S.-based finance support to the appropriate steady-state local, regional, or outsourced operating model.
  • Act with a global mindset by helping RevMed define, document, and govern its finance and accounting processes across international markets.
  • Determine and implement the appropriate steady-state finance operating model for each market.
  • Lead handoff to a local finance lead or approved third-party service provider.
  • Design, implement, and govern global finance policies, process standards, control frameworks, and decision rights for international operations.
  • Clearly define which processes/policies are global, regional, local, or outsourced, including ownership, decision rights, control expectations, and escalation paths.
  • Design and lead a scalable international business review process, including the financial reporting package, meeting cadence, agenda, pre-read materials, key metrics, variance analysis, action items, and follow-up.
  • Lead the design and execution of quarterly business certifications or sub-certifications.
  • Maintain regular communication with global business partners to identify new significant transactions, unusual contracts, changes in business activity, local regulatory developments, and areas where accounting or finance support may be needed.
  • Own the finance launch and interim operating strategy for a rolling portfolio of newly launched international entities, including operating model design, process architecture, control expectations, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
  • Continuously evolve scalable frameworks, playbooks, and transition criteria that ensure each new market is launched with compliant, efficient, and sustainable finance operations until the appropriate permanent local, regional, or outsourced finance structure is established.
  • Partner with Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, SEC Reporting, SOX, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR/Payroll, FP&A, and business leadership to resolve complex cross-functional issues and establish sustainable global solutions.
