About The Position

Proofpoint is seeking a Director, Global Analyst Relations to lead and scale our global analyst relations strategy. This role is responsible for building trusted, strategic relationships with key industry analysts and influencer firms, ensuring Proofpoint’s vision, strategy, and differentiated value are clearly understood and accurately represented in analyst research, reports, and market evaluations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned AR professional with deep experience in cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS, strong executive presence, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling market narratives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in analyst relations, product marketing, corporate communications, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, enterprise software, or cloud-based SaaS.
  • Demonstrated success influencing analyst perception and outcomes in competitive market categories.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior executives and external influencers.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing agencies, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global analyst relations strategy aligned with Proofpoint’s business priorities, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Own and manage relationships with top-tier analyst firms (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC, etc.) across security, cloud, data protection, and risk management domains.
  • Lead Proofpoint’s participation in major analyst evaluations (Magic Quadrants, Waves, MarketScapes), including positioning, messaging, submissions, and briefings.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
  • Prepare executives and subject matter experts for analyst briefings, inquiries, and events; provide coaching and strategic guidance.
  • Identify emerging market trends and analyst insights, and proactively share intelligence to inform product strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Measure and report on AR effectiveness, including share of voice, sentiment, rankings, and business impact.
  • Manage AR agency partners and budgets, ensuring strong ROI and alignment with internal goals.
  • Represent Proofpoint at analyst events, conferences, and industry forums as needed.
