About The Position

The Director of Foundation Strategy & Operations is a senior leader responsible for advancing the operational, governance, and strategic priorities of the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation in close partnership with the Foundation President and System CEO. Serving as the President's principal strategic advisor and operational partner, this role helps translate vision into execution, ensuring alignment between the Foundation, Rogers Behavioral Health System leadership, and the Foundation Board. Working across the System and Foundation, this role translates the priorities of the System CEO and the Foundation President into actionable external affairs and philanthropic frameworks. This leader operates with a high degree of independence, asks incisive questions, and brings clarity, structure, and forward momentum across two interconnected but independently functioning organizations. The role provides dedicated, full-time strategic coordination and advisory support without day-to-day clinical, operational, or programmatic oversight.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred; advanced degree in public policy, healthcare administration, law, business, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategic planning and external affairs.
  • Exposure to working with state government in building relationships unique to community development.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated success supporting C-suite executives, public officials, and governing boards.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating external lobbyists, consultants, and regional advocacy partners.
  • Familiarity with the evolving landscape of AI policy, AI governance frameworks, and emerging regulatory issues impacting digital healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning initiatives, annual work plans, and enterprise projects that advance the Foundation's mission.
  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable implementation plans while monitoring progress and organizational accountability.
  • Anticipate emerging organizational needs, identify potential challenges, and proactively develop solutions for executive consideration.
  • Lead or coordinate special projects on behalf of the Foundation President or System CEO that require cross-functional leadership and executive sponsorship.
  • Develop business cases, organizational analyses, briefing materials, and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
  • Partner with the Foundation President to develop annual Board priorities, committee work plans, and governance initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic coordination point between the System CEO and the Foundation President to support unified enterprise messaging and priority alignment.
  • Support the CEO, C-suite, and Foundation President with governance best practices, policy implications, and strategic positioning ahead of board-level discussions.
  • Help strengthen governance practices and decision-making frameworks across entities to foster agility, accountability, and mission fidelity.
  • Provide strategic board engagement support, including orientation, education, and governance comfort-building, while remaining distinct from the legal and compliance responsibilities overseen by the Chief Legal Officer.
  • Develop executive messaging, speeches, presentations, briefing books and other strategic communications supporting enterprise priorities.
  • Support consistent, mission-aligned messaging across public policy, advocacy, external affairs, and governance functions.
  • Help align external communications across entities, including coordinated campaigns, employee economic-impact storytelling, and appropriate client testimonials, supported by structured advocacy playbooks.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Strategy Officer and other senior leaders who shape Rogers’ long-term direction, where the CSO owns market growth and clinical program strategy and the Director of Foundation Strategy and Operations supports the external stakeholder and governance pathways that help unlock those growth initiatives.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with C-suite leaders across both organizations, including intentional shadowing of key functions to understand operational realities and enterprise interdependencies.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review and gap analysis of the System and Foundation strategic plans to identify alignment opportunities, resource leverage points, and areas requiring coordinated attention.
  • Act as a cross-entity coordination function, helping ensure clear communication, aligned priorities, and strategic coherence between the System CEO, Foundation President, CFOs, CIOs, HR leaders, and other cross-entity executives.
