About The Position

Easterseals residential facilities provide 24-hour support to youth ages 5-21. Our clinical support is designed to meet the needs of our youth with neurological and or psychiatric disabilities and intellectual and behavioral challenges. Children and their families are supported through programs designed to meet their specific needs. The Director, Food Services is based in a facility that provides Residential and Educational programs to a youth population and is responsible for overseeing the planning, operation and management of all Easterseals food service programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts or related field, OR Eight (8) to ten (10) years of related experience may be substituted for the degree
  • Two (2) years experience as a supervisor in the food service industry
  • Valid driver’s license reliable transportation, and Auto Insurance

Responsibilities

  • Oversee total business activities of the assigned food service operations.
  • Meet operational and budgetary objectives as established by the program.
  • Plan menus, order, receive, and arrange for food storage of food items, paper and cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain sanitary working and food preparation conditions in accordance with State and local health requirements.
  • Supervise managers and employees in completion of their assigned tasks including, but not limited to, food preparation, cleaning, and other duties.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise food service employees.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and address employee relations and disciplinary issues.
  • Maintain required records of the operations and provide Easterseals administrative staff and State officials requested operational data on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Prepare for and respond to health inspections and audits.
  • Implement operational guidelines that will ensure that customers will receive a high standard of service and nutritious food.
  • Help to develop and oversee an active school lunch program in accordance with NH Department of Education standards. Ensure accurate meal tracking and reporting.
  • Work in the kitchen, whenever necessary, preparing and service hot and cold foods.
  • Collaborate with dietician on menu development, ensuring requirements are met for dietary restrictions, allergies, and special diets.
  • Direct and assist with the delivery of food to various operational locations.
  • Provide high quality catering services to Easterseals programs as requested
  • Other duties as needed.
