About The Position

The Food & Nutrition business offers a wide range of high-quality products and leverages insights into industry trends to create innovative formulation solutions. The Director, Food & Nutrition is responsible for leading all commercial and business development activities for the Food & Nutrition segment in the United States, driving profitable revenue growth, building industry relationships, and expanding IMCD’s footprint. This role reports to the President, IMCD US, and has a matrix reporting relationship with the Global Food & Nutrition Director. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, strategic thinking skills, P&L management experience, and a proven ability to build high-performing sales teams. They should foster a collaborative culture, embody IMCD values, possess strong market knowledge, and be comfortable building relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry players, including engaging in M&A opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • At least 10 years of progressive sales leadership and P&L management experience, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth in a senior sales role
  • Deep knowledge of nutrition ingredients, applications, and market dynamics, with strong industry connections
  • Proven experience working with brand owners, contract manufacturers, and supplier networks
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices
  • Previous experience as a Sales Director, VP of Sales, or equivalent position, preferably in Food & Nutrition
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, work with C-level executives, and influence cross-functionally
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Establish clear sales strategies and objectives that align with the company’s goals, including core focus on organic growth, as well as supporting principal expansion and M&A activities.
  • Drive top-line revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, expanding the customer base, and improving sales processes.
  • Create scalable sales systems to support sustained growth policies and programs that align with business goals and drive business results.
  • Identify new markets, industries, and verticals to drive growth.
  • Cultivate relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to open new business opportunities.
  • Oversee accurate sales forecasting and performance tracking.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, opportunities, and challenges to the executive team.
  • Leverage data to tell a story and help drive fact-based decision making for our leaders and organization.
  • Work cross-functionally with principal management, marketing, finance, customer service, regulatory, and supply chain to ensure a cohesive and aligned approach to customer service, onboarding, retention, and growth.
  • Manage the commercial team budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve sales targets while maintaining cost control.
  • Ensure the sales team prioritizes customer needs and experience, building long-term relationships with customers and maintaining high satisfaction.
  • Ensure digital marketing and digital tools (portal, lead management, sales assistant) are deployed effectively.
