This position is responsible for leading activities related to the fleet of aircraft from a transactional perspective, including negotiations of aircraft-related acquisitions, sale, lease, and dispositions along with periodic market analysis. Key supplier/vendor management (Airbus, CFM, Pratt & Whitney, Lockheed and Honeywell) related to ongoing fleet management, recommendation to senior management regarding sources of aircraft financing, forecasting fleet related expenses and reconciling and managing all fleet related internal audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or equivalent field required
  • 7+ years of experience performing fleet transaction related functions
  • 4+ years of managerial experience
  • Strong negotiation skills to resolve commercial and technical disputes
  • Experience with airline maintenance, MRO processes, and technical-financial interfaces.
  • Experience in supporting critical fleet related RFPs
  • Experience in vendor management
  • Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate complex contracts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate in a positive and effective manner with subordinates, peers, and all levels of management
  • Ability to work with confidential material

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Prior airline, lessor, OEM, or aviation finance experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, strengthen, and continuously develop relationships with all leasing and financing counterparties.
  • Lead contract negotiations with financing partners to secure aircraft financing for upcoming deliveries.
  • Lead critical fleet-related RFPs (aircraft selection, engine selection, etc.) and present senior leadership with recommendations and strategic solutions.
  • Negotiate and resolve contractual and technical issues related to aircraft, engines, and fleet programs.
  • Lead and oversee the disposition of aircraft and aircraft-related assets, including remarketing, sale, or lease transitions.
  • Review all price calculations for new aircraft deliveries and obtain necessary approvals for fleet induction.
  • Assist with the induction and delivery of aircraft and spare engines in various global locations.
  • Analyze and present effective methods for leasing or purchasing aircraft, including financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Engage cross-functionally with internal departments to assess broader fleet plans, including aircraft returns, replacements, and long-term fleet needs.
  • Oversee approvals for all aircraft and engine lease payments and maintenance deposit payments.
  • Direct discussions with lessors regarding maintenance performed on aircraft and engines during the lease term.
  • Partner with Maintenance & Engineering to understand maintenance scope and evaluate financial and contractual implications.
  • Monitor market conditions, including interest rate movements, and provide senior leadership with periodic updates on the financial environment affecting fleet decisions.
  • Document all internal audit requirements related to fleet activities and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Review and validate fleet-related forecasting inputs for budgeting purposes and ensure accuracy against financial targets.
  • Support the development of finance and business presentations, including Board of Directors materials and lender presentations.
  • Support ad hoc RFPs, financial modeling, contract negotiations, and execution of fleet-related commercial initiatives as needed.
