About The Position

The Finance team at 2U provides strategic financial leadership and analytical support to stakeholders across the organization. We support decision-making and operational effectiveness through financial planning, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, all in service of 2U’s mission to expand access to high-quality education. As a Director, FP&A, you will play a lead role in supporting high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across the business. This includes evaluating new initiatives, supporting business case development, driving financial modeling, and surfacing insights that inform company-wide decisions. You’ll work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to drive clarity around priorities, risks, and opportunities. This is an ideal role for a highly analytical and proactive individual with strong business acumen and a desire to work in a mission-driven and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related field, with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate financial insights
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor the performance of the Degree cash collection cycles, optimizing time to collect
  • Develop scalable reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance metrics to track partner cash collections and Analyst performance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity in partner reporting deliverables
  • Lead high-impact cross-functional projects that support company priorities
  • Serve as a finance lead on enterprise initiatives requiring cross-functional coordination and structured financial evaluation
  • Support strategic planning efforts through scenario modeling, financial analysis, and data-driven recommendations
  • Improve the efficiency, automation, and scalability of partner reporting processes
  • Enhance data infrastructure, reporting systems, and documentation supporting partner financial analytics
  • Implement best practices for reporting accuracy, transparency, and consistency across partner deliverables
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of FP&A managers and analysts; build bench strength and succession plans
  • Foster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Elevate analytical capabilities, financial acumen, and storytelling skills across the team
  • Optimize team structure and workflows to scale with company growth
