About The Position

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications. The "Director, Finance" will be based in Austin, TX, reporting to VP of Finance. This leader manages a team of finance professionals within the business unit and acts as a strategic finance partner to the senior leadership team. The role is responsible for the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial data. They will develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies so that financial data is accurate and complies with corporate and legislative requirements.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience, including at least 5 years in Finance Management.
  • Experience in a manufacturing industry is required.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, coupled with strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Demonstrates expert functional knowledge, people management, and process management skills.
  • Ability to define and analyze problems and draw conclusions across a complex variety of variables.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
  • One of the following certifications is preferred: CPA, CMA, CA, CGA, CFP, or APICS.

Responsibilities

  • Direct preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare supporting documentation and justification.
  • Manage preparation of the quarterly financial reporting package for leadership review.
  • Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position (income, expenses, and earnings) based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis and projections at the customer level.
  • Provide the senior leadership team with timely reviews of the organization's financial status and progress across its programs and activities.
  • Establish or recommend strategies, objectives, and policies to management.
  • Develop financial reporting requirements, and set operational objectives and assignments for the finance team.
  • Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
  • Research and prepare economic reports on topics including: rate of return and depreciation working capital requirements investment opportunities and performance the impact of governmental requirements
  • Ensure monthly account analyses and reconciliations are performed accurately and on time.
  • Support external auditors in their examination of quarterly and year-end financial statements.
  • Benchmark systems and controls against market practice to verify process integrity and enhance the Company's value.
  • Stay current on industry trends and apply them to the business model as appropriate.
  • Coach and mentor finance professionals, and drive HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified, motivated workforce.
