About The Position

This position reports to the Senior Director, Egg Insights and Enablement. The Director, Farm Business Transformation will lead the teams and systems that support Vital Farms' network of approximately 600 family farmers, aiming to create a frictionless experience through clear communication, responsive support, and efficient processes. This role involves building scalable workflows, automating manual tasks, and leading teams across Lay Farm Process & Engagement, Pullet Farm Process & Engagement, and Contract Administration & Systems to ensure farmers receive timely and simple support. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys fixing broken processes, building new systems, and simplifying complex operations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Agribusiness, Information Systems, or a related technical field strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in operations, shared services, or business process leadership, serving a customer at scale.
  • Several years of experience leading a team.
  • Proven ability to turn manual, inefficient work into scalable systems through process design, automation, service standards, knowledge management, and contract administration.
  • Experience building a new function, team, or set of services.
  • Strong team leadership skills, with empathy, a passion for building new things, and a data-driven approach.
  • Ability to simplify, streamline, and improve processes.
  • High support, accountability, and empowerment in leadership style.

Responsibilities

  • Own and create frictionless, end-to-end business processes for farmers and Vital Farms.
  • Lead the team that brings these processes to life.
  • Create and refine automation and business services, including centralized data entry for Farm Support, pullet communications to lay farmers, and answers to common questions like pay.
  • Refine and automate existing processes (e.g., communications) to free up capacity for higher-value work.
  • Build a Farmer-Facing Support Center, acting as a single 'front door' for farmers to consolidate inbound questions and requests.
  • Create clear routing, service-level expectations, and a shared knowledge base for farmers and internal teams.
  • Lead lay farm process and engagement, pullet farm process and engagement, and contract administration and systems.
  • Build the operating model, expectations, and accountability for the team to deliver consistently.
  • Create systems to regularly monitor data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead projects/initiatives in support of the farm operations team.
  • Lead, develop, and support a high-performing team, ensuring team members have the necessary tools, training, and clarity.
  • Build a culture of ownership, trust, and continuous improvement to enable the team to deliver exceptional service.
