About The Position

Reporting to the Vice-President, the Director, Facilities and Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for the management, maintenance, security, and operational effectiveness of Nunavut Arctic College’s facilities, residences, and support services across all campuses and Community Learning Centres. The position ensures that students, staff, and visitors have access to safe, secure, functional, and culturally supportive learning and living environments that advance the College’s mission and objectives. The Director is accountable for the stewardship of College-owned and leased infrastructure, student housing, security services, emergency management programs, and operational resources. Working closely with senior leadership, government departments, community partners, contractors, and Inuit stakeholders, the Director develops and implements operational strategies, ensures compliance with applicable policies and safety standards, and promotes effective, efficient, and sustainable service delivery throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Strategic leadership and oversight experience in facilities, operations, and management.
  • Experience in managing infrastructure, student housing, security services, and emergency management programs.
  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership, government departments, community partners, contractors, and Inuit stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies.
  • Knowledge of applicable policies and safety standards.
  • Commitment to promoting effective, efficient, and sustainable service delivery.
