About The Position

Xometry is hiring a Director of External Communications to lead its earned media program and external storytelling. Reporting to the VP, Communications, this person will turn the corporate narrative into a consistent cadence of announcements, proactive pitches, and thought leadership. As a new role on a rebuilding team, the Director will both establish the program and produce its communications work. The Director will own proactive media planning and execution across business, financial, technology, and trade press; ensure external communications follow the VP’s message house; and work with Product and Engineering to translate AI, platform, and marketplace developments into accurate, evidence-backed stories. Investor Relations leads investor materials. The role monitors coverage and emerging issues, escalating concerns to the VP and supporting responses. Success includes consistent use of the message house across communications, a rolling plan connected to business milestones, predictable executive preparation, improved earned-media quality and share of voice, and a core communications team with clear ownership and outcome-focused agency scope and KPIs. The estimated base salary range for new hires is $150,000–$175,000 annually, plus bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location. Xometry offers a competitive benefits package.
