About The Position

Empire Homes is seeking a Director, Estimating to support our High-Rise Division. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the high-rise estimating process and play an integral role in cost estimating and budget management throughout all high-rise residential construction project lifecycles. This role is a 12-month contract and is located at our Empire Canada Head Office in Vaughan, ON. This posting is for a temporary backfill. The expected annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000/year. Please note the compensation information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • 10+ years of estimating/quantity surveying experience preferably in High Rise Construction.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics.
  • Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written and verbal.
  • Excellent knowledge of SharePoint, Excel, and On Centre (or Equivalent).
  • Knowledge of quantity takeoffs, construction methods, cost estimating, scheduling and building codes is required.
  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Project Management or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • PQS designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of High-Level Construction budgets including Construction Schedules and Cash Flows.
  • Creation of Elemental and Trade Budgets including Construction Schedules and Cash Flows.
  • Continuous updating of Estimating Cost Data Bases to current market conditions and current Project budgets.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of high-rise construction methodologies, local building codes, and industry standards in Canada.
  • Update and distribute monthly construction schedules to sites and project managers.
  • Maintain and share monthly labour control schedules with project managers.
  • Maintain and distribute monthly hoist labour schedules to project managers.
  • Prepare monthly budgets and conduct reviews with teams (Construction, Technical Audit, Development, Customer Care, Sales, Marketing, Revenue).
  • Update monthly commission data in Sales Reviews.
  • Continuously improve all Job Cost Excel programs
