About The Position

The Director - Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and Performance Excellence (PE) is a leader responsible for driving organizational alignment, execution excellence, and enterprise-wide transformation. This role integrates the functions of an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and Performance Excellence (aka Process Improvement) Department into a single, highly strategic position. This leader partners closely with all levels of leadership to ensure that the organization’s highest priorities are clearly defined, actively managed, and successfully executed. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a robust EPMO, including establishing standardized tools, governance structures, and methodologies to drive project execution. This includes executive-level project governance, enterprise resource management, performance reporting, stakeholder communications, and change management to support successful delivery of strategic initiatives. The Director also leads the organization’s PE function, building and maturing capabilities that drive operational efficiency, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement. This includes integrating process improvement methodologies into project management practices to ensure sustainable and scalable results. Operating at the highest levels of the organization, this role requires strong strategic thinking, operational discipline, and the ability to influence across departments. The Director of the EPMO and PE plays a critical role in ensuring the organization remains focused on its most important priorities while executing with consistency, transparency, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five years’ senior leadership experience in healthcare or complex, regulated industries, with a proven track record of managing enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Strong experience with cross-functional leadership, project and portfolio management, process improvement, and strategic execution and transformation is also required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), and/or PMI-PMOCP strongly preferred.
