About The Position

We are seeking a Director, Engineering - AI Data Technology to lead engineering teams that deliver scalable AI capabilities supporting the Fidelity Wealth business. In this role, you will partner closely with business, product, architecture, data, and platform teams to translate Wealth priorities into secure, reliable AI solutions that help advisors operate more effectively and enable better customer experiences.

Requirements

Extensive people management and engineering leadership experience, with a proven ability to build, develop, and retain diverse, high-performing teams while fostering a culture of inclusion, experimentation, and continuous learning.
Deep hands-on engineering background solving software engineering problems, including API development, data modeling, customer-facing applications, cloud-based solutions, and modern architecture patterns such as distributed, serverless, event-driven, and microservices.
Experience using DevOps metrics to manage engineering performance, improve delivery practices, and advocate for continuous improvement that advances engineering excellence.
Experience partnering with Product and Business stakeholders to translate strategy into a clear mission, measurable outcomes, and executable delivery plans.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering leadership across product, architecture, platform, and delivery teams, turning Fidelity Wealth priorities and advisor/customer needs into practical AI solutions.
Stay current on trends in data management, AI engineering, and responsible AI delivery, and use that expertise to guide practical technology decisions.
Set technical direction with Architecture and Platform Engineering teams, ensuring solutions meet expectations for security, scale, reuse, resiliency, observability, and high availability.
Set clear expectations for engineering excellence and help teams understand how their work connects to the broader technology and business strategy.
Build and develop a strong organization by hiring thoughtfully, growing talent, supporting career development, and retaining the skills needed for current and future priorities.
Partner with senior engineering leaders on the standards, resources, and direction needed for teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
