About The Position

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit a Director of Employee Experience & Talent to join their team. Our client is a mission-driven organization operating in a high-paced, 24/7 environment with a nationwide workforce, focused on delivering critical services that require precision, coordination, and a strong culture of accountability. This role owns the employee experience across the full lifecycle—leading employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, engagement, and learning & development. It’s a high-impact leadership position responsible for building a strong, consistent culture while partnering closely with senior leadership to support a growing, distributed workforce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, investigations, and talent management
  • Experience supporting distributed, operational, or 24/7 workforces
  • Proven ability to coach and develop leaders at multiple levels
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and sound judgment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, healthcare, or other mission-driven environments
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)
  • Experience with employee engagement tools and data-driven decision making

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary employee relations leader and trusted resource across the organization
  • Lead workplace investigations, ensuring fair, thorough, and timely resolution
  • Design and manage corrective action and progressive discipline processes
  • Monitor trends and proactively address employee relations risks
  • Act as a steward of culture, reinforcing organizational values and mission
  • Coach and support frontline and mid-level leaders on performance, conflict resolution, and employee management
  • Identify leadership capability gaps and implement targeted development solutions
  • Provide guidance on complex employee situations to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Design and lead employee engagement strategies, including survey programs and action planning
  • Implement recognition initiatives that reinforce culture and drive retention
  • Monitor engagement trends and recommend improvements
  • Lead recruiting strategy for a growing, national workforce
  • Manage and develop talent acquisition team members
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience aligned to organizational values
  • Lead performance management processes including goal setting, feedback, and development planning
  • Design and support succession planning and career pathing initiatives
  • Partner with leadership to identify and address talent gaps
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy across the organization
  • Deliver leadership development programs and compliance training
  • Design scalable training solutions for a distributed workforce
  • Build and continuously improve onboarding and new hire integration programs
  • Track onboarding effectiveness and optimize employee ramp-up and engagement
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and growth strategy
  • Develop competency models and career pathways
  • Use data to drive decisions related to engagement, retention, and performance
  • Lead exit interview programs and synthesize insights to inform retention strategies
  • Identify turnover trends and partner with leadership on solutions
