About The Position

The Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the assigned nursing department, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. The Director is responsible for staff management, budget oversight, regulatory compliance, and achievement of departmental goals. This role partners with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, promote professional practice, and support continuous improvement within the organization.

Requirements

• Five (5) years’ standard-level licensed experience in applicable department (Ex: Registered Nurse, BH Clinician)
• Two (2) years of supervisory, management, or charge experience
• Current State of Alaska Registered Nursing License
• BLS Certification
• Produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to the start of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Master's in Healthcare Administration and previous experience in specialty area

Responsibilities

• Approves and enforces departmental and organizational policies, staffing models, and practice standards.
• Directs resource allocation, hiring decisions, and corrective actions.
• Leads departmental initiatives impacting patient outcomes, staff engagement, and financial performance.
