Emergency Department Assistant – Emergency Department Emergency Department in Springfield, MA | Baystate Health Careers Department: Emergency Location: Baystate Medical Center, Springfield Massachusetts Job Type: Full-time Shift: Night Make an Impact with Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking a Emergency Department Assistant (EDA) to join our Emergency Department team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts . Our Emergency Department team provides care to a diverse adult patient population, working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality care.
Requirements
- Full-Time, 36 hours per week
- Night Shift, 7pm-7:30am
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other Friday and Saturday
- Every other Holiday
Responsibilities
- Provides age-appropriate care in emergency, trauma, pediatric, and behavioral health settings.
- Observes patients and reports changes in physical or behavioral conditions.
- Assists with personal care, vital signs, mobility, transfers, positioning, and patient safety.
- Performs assigned procedures and safely operates patient care equipment.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
- Uses appropriate de-escalation, restraint, and safety procedures.
- Completes behavioral health observation and safety duties as assigned.
- Maintains accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Completes required training and follows hospital policies and procedures.
