We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Electrical Engineering to lead our electrical engineering team in the design and development of innovative consumer products. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in power electronics and embedded systems, and a strong background in driving products from early concept through to high-volume production.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
Strong expertise in power electronics, including power conversion, motor control, and battery systems.
Solid background in embedded systems design, microcontrollers, and real-time firmware integration.
Experience in developing and launching high-volume consumer electronics.
Deep understanding of DFM, DFT, and regulatory compliance in hardware development.
Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the electrical engineering team responsible for designing, prototyping, and validating electrical systems for consumer products.
Provide technical leadership in power electronics, embedded systems, circuit design, and hardware development processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with industrial design, mechanical engineering, product development, manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration and execution.
Drive continuous improvement in design quality, performance, and manufacturability.
Oversee development of schematics, PCB layouts, circuit simulations, and system validation to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant designs.
Support the integration of power systems, including power conversion, motor control, and energy-efficient solutions.
Ensure embedded system architecture and implementation meets performance, scalability, and reliability goals.
Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to implement effective DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) practices.
Partner with external suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Manage design validation testing (DVT) and compliance processes to meet regulatory requirements (UL, FCC, CE, IEC, etc.).
Mentor and develop engineering team members, helping grow individual capabilities and team performance.
