About The Position

Montabella Community Schools is a long-tenured and well-established partnership with Chartwells, serving approximately 859 students across two connected school buildings. Reporting directly to Chartwells leadership, the Director of Dining Services will lead all aspects of the district's food service operation, overseeing a team of 9 frontline associates while ensuring a positive dining experience for students, staff, and the community. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a Monday through Friday schedule, no evenings, weekends, or holidays. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for managing daily operations, leading and developing team members, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring compliance with all food service and safety standards. The Director will oversee financial performance, inventory management, reporting, and operational planning while working closely with school leadership to support program success. The ideal candidate will possess strong people management and leadership skills, excellent computer proficiency, and the ability to build a positive team culture. K-12 food service experience is preferred, along with a passion for serving students and delivering high-quality results.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in food service management, hospitality, nutrition or culinary preferred or equivalent experience.
Three plus years of foodservice management experience.
Dining experience.
K-12 food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account.
Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
Works with the team in creating nutritious and top-quality food for the students.
Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
Acts as a liaison between the Chartwells, Client, and the community.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of a dining service operation.
