Working for the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is a highly complex and challenging communications posting. For the right candidate, it’s also one of the most rewarding. In this role, you’ll have the chance to work on files that are of critical importance to the community, testing your quick-thinking and your ability to formulate strategic, thoughtful, and empathetic responses to emerging issues. You’ll step right into key issues facing our city, all while becoming part a high-performing team. The EPS has a significant responsibility to the public and you’ll be working at that vital interface, strengthening the trust and relationships between the Service and our many stakeholders. There will be days when you feel stretched, but many more days that you’ll feel pride as you see and feel your impact within the Service and the community. The Director of the Digital Media and Public Affairs Branch will be a chief creator critical to the internal and external communication activities of EPS. In this position, you will provide guidance and vision to a dedicated team of communication professionals, bringing to life the content, stories, campaigns and connections that are central to EPS. More broadly, you are part of a senior leadership team that advances the Service’s Strategic Plan and the role of EPS in the community.
