The role also advances API’s AI Enablement program by running AI experiments and pilots, driving adoption of enterprise AI tools, and using AI to improve the data team’s work and insights. The Director balances hands-on AI and analytics work with team leadership, setting direction, developing people, and improving how API defines, measures, and uses data. This is a remote position. The role leads, coaches, and develops data analysts; sets priorities across Engineering, Client Delivery, and Corporate stakeholders; and ensures analysis and reporting are accurate, clear, timely, and decision-ready. It defines and maintains enterprise data standards, metric definitions, naming conventions, documentation, and a shared data dictionary. The Director establishes data quality monitoring, validation, issue-resolution, and remediation practices, partners on access, lifecycle, and compliance requirements, and serves as the authority for key operational and commercial metrics. The Director runs data and AI experiments from intake and hypothesis design through metric definition, outcome documentation, and go/no-go or production decisions. Responsibilities include validating AI outputs, setting quality standards for AI-generated analysis, promoting adoption of Claude Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot, producing a monthly AI scorecard, and co-leading AI Sandbox operations with Engineering. The position also manages data and AI tooling vendor relationships and tracks spending against the approved plan. The position requires at least seven years of relevant professional experience, working personal fluency with Claude, experience designing and documenting hypothesis-driven experiments, experience with data standards or governance, strong SQL and BI/visualization skills, and a bachelor’s degree. Compensation is $120,000–$140,000 USD.
