About The Position

The Director, Data & Standards leads API’s data analyst team and owns the standards, governance, and quality practices that make data trustworthy and usable across the organization. The role also advances API’s AI Enablement program by running AI experiments and pilots, driving adoption of enterprise AI tools, and applying AI to improve the data team’s work and insights. It balances hands-on AI and analytics work with team leadership, setting direction, developing people, and improving how API defines, measures, and uses data. This is a remote position. The Director leads, coaches, and develops data analysts; sets priorities across Engineering, Client Delivery, and Corporate stakeholders; reviews work for accuracy and business relevance; and promotes curiosity, ownership, continuous learning, and AI fluency. The role defines and maintains enterprise data standards, metric definitions, naming conventions, documentation, and a shared data dictionary; establishes data-quality monitoring and remediation practices; partners on data access, lifecycle management, and compliance; and serves as the authority on key operational and commercial metrics. The position oversees intake, hypothesis design, metric definition, and outcome documentation for data and AI experiments; leads AI pilot go/no-go and production-readiness decisions; and evaluates AI outputs for accuracy and reliability. It also supports adoption of Claude Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot through training, communications, and enablement, produces a monthly AI scorecard, co-leads AI Sandbox operations, and identifies opportunities to improve return on AI spend. The role manages relationships with data and AI tooling vendors and tracks spending against the approved plan. The position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
