About The Position

Under the direction of the CIO, and in collaboration with other senior leadership team members, this senior technology leadership position is responsible for defining, governing, and executing the organization's enterprise data and analytics strategy. The position serves as the primary strategist for data warehousing, business intelligence, and clinical and operational analytics; owning the architecture, governance, lifecycle management, and continuous evolution of the analytics ecosystem, including Epic Caboodle/Cogito, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and cross-system reporting. The position drives the transition from a fragmented reporting environment to a governed, Epic-forward, data-driven organization while maintaining reliable current-state reporting. Direct reports include Business Intelligence Developers, Epic Analysts, and the IS Clinical Decision Support team. The position collaborates closely with clinical operations, finance, quality, revenue cycle, and population health leadership and requires considerable judgement, strategic vision, and the ability to function with a high degree of autonomy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Nursing, Clinical Informatics, Information Services, or Data Analytics
  • 5 or more Years of progressive experience in healthcare data, analytics, or business intelligence.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and enterprise data integration
  • Experience with enterprise BI visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Willingness and ability to obtain required certificaitons is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic Caboodle and/or Cogito certification strongly preferred
  • Additional Epic application certification(s) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the enterprise data and business intelligence strategy, aligned with clinical, operational, and organizational goals.
  • Establish Epic Caboodle as the authoritative analytics foundation, with a roadmap for cloud integration and external data ingestion.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap balancing cloud innovation, on-premise infrastructure, and Epic ecosystem maturity.
  • Design and implement a formal data governance framework, including data dictionaries, metric definitions, named ownership, and content lifecycle standards.
  • Establish a content certification process (Prototype > Pilot > Certified) and standards for report intake, prioritization, validation, and retirement.
  • Lead metric harmonization efforts to eliminate conflicting definitions across clinical, financial, and operational domains (based on leadership criteria).
  • Oversee all enterprise reporting infrastructure (Epic Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, Cogito/SlicerDicer, Power BI, legacy tools) and drive Radar adoption as the enterprise operational dashboard standard.
  • Manage the strategy for ingesting external data sources (workflorce, financial, and population health) into the governed analytics environment.
  • Support quality measure reporting, ACO performance tracking, and payer data submissions with accurate, auditable, and timely data.
  • Assist with strategic direction and operational standards for the IS Clinical Decision Support Manager, including Practice Advisories (OPA's), clinical metrics as well as guiding the coordination of AI Governance and oversight.
  • Serve as the primary IT partner to senior, clinical, and operational leadership on data strategy, analytics capabilities, and reporting reliability; facilitate governance committees and executive briefings as needed.
  • Champion data literacy and self-service analytics adoption within a governed hub-and-spoke model.
  • Maintain the enterprise data strategy including: roadmap, data catalog, metric registry and more.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
