Top Reasons to Work at Bimbo Bakeries USA: Salary Range: $146,900 - $205,700 Comprehensive Benefits Package Annual Bonus Eligibility 401k & Company Match Position Summary: The Director of Corporate Strategy is responsible for leading long‑term strategic planning for Bimbo Bakeries USA, ensuring alignment and integration with global enterprise strategy. This role drives portfolio strategy across product categories and brands, leads high‑impact internal consulting projects focused on commercial, brand, and channel strategy, and provides strategic insight to the senior leadership team to support critical decision making. The Director will lead and develop a high‑performing team of strategy professionals and serve as a trusted thought partner to executive leadership, translating market trends, competitive intelligence, and consumer insights into actionable growth strategies.

Requirements

  • MBA or other relevant Master’s degree required
  • 10+ Years of Experience 10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or strategic planning, preferably within consumer packaged goods or food & beverage.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and influencing senior executives in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the 3–5 year strategic plan for the U.S. business, aligning growth priorities, investment decisions, and performance metrics with global corporate strategy. Acts as system owner for the Strategic Planning process, ensuring disciplined governance, decision-quality, and enterprise alignment.
  • Partner closely with global strategy, regional leadership, and functional teams to ensure strategic coherence and alignment across geographies and business units.
  • Support annual operating plan and long range planning processes, including strategic narratives, scenario planning, and executive presentations.
  • Define and evolve portfolio strategy across product categories and brands, clarifying brand roles, category participation, and growth priorities.
  • Evaluate portfolio optimization opportunities including innovation prioritization, brand expansion, rationalization, M&A, partnerships, and divestitures in partnership with responsible functions. This role informs portfolio direction and strategic choice but does not own M&A execution, diligence, or integration activities.
  • Develop fact based frameworks to assess portfolio performance and inform capital allocation decisions.
  • Lead internal consulting engagements addressing high priority strategic questions with a focus on commercial strategy, brand strategy, and channel strategy. Owns a prioritized portfolio of high-impact, long-horizon strategy initiatives focused on enterprise value creation
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customers Team, Revenue Growth Management, and Finance to shape go to market models and channel expansion initiatives.
  • Deliver clear, actionable recommendations supported by robust analysis, financial modeling, and consumer insights.
  • Lead ongoing trend assessment across consumer behavior, health and wellness, sustainability, technology, and regulatory landscapes. Maintains an outside-in, future-ready perspective on structural shifts such as consumption patterns, labor dynamics, AI, geopolitics, and channel evolution, translating implications into strategic choices.
  • Identify, size, and prioritize new growth opportunities, including entry into new markets, categories, business models, or adjacencies.
  • Translate insights into business cases, pilots, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive competitive intelligence capability, tracking competitor strategies, performance, innovation pipelines, and go to market approaches. Oversees monthly and quarterly Market Intelligence outputs synthesizing competitor actions, consumer trends, retailer dynamics, and macro forces to inform executive decision-making.
  • Synthesize competitive insights into implications for portfolio strategy, brand positioning, commercial execution and enterprise strategy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, providing strategic perspectives to support enterprise level and business unit decision making.
  • Prepare and present strategic analyses, options, and recommendations to executive leadership and key governance forums.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–7 strategy associates, ranging from analyst to senior manager level.
  • Establish clear objectives, development plans, and performance expectations, fostering a high performance, collaborative team culture.
  • Build organizational strategic capability through mentorship, tools, and best practices.
