About The Position

Workday is seeking a Director, Head of Corporate PR to lead the team responsible for the company's most strategic corporate narratives. This role will be instrumental in cementing Workday's position as the company changing the future of work with AI. The ideal candidate will approach storymining like a journalist, identifying angles, mapping components, finding the right reporters, preparing executives, and driving results. This role requires a proactive approach to media relations and the ability to handle challenging media moments with calm, sharp judgment.

  • Deep, active relationships across tech, business, and financial outlets.
  • Journalistic instincts for finding and shaping stories.
  • Sharp read on today's dynamic media landscape, including traditional outlets, influencers, Substack writers, podcasters, and independent voices.
  • Proficiency in the use of AI to sharpen storytelling and accelerate work.
  • Ability to translate complex enterprise technology into compelling, accessible stories.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Trusted counselor, comfortable setting strategy and shaping narratives.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Experience navigating challenging media situations with poise.
  • Experience in the fast-paced rhythm of a public tech company or high-growth startup.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for Workday's most strategic corporate narratives, including AI leadership, Workday Ventures, the Workday Foundation, financial PR, and executive narratives.
  • Elevate and protect Workday's reputation through bold, opinionated, and differentiated storytelling.
  • Identify and shape stories that move the business forward, particularly in the context of AI and the reshaping of the enterprise software category.
  • Act like a journalist in storymining: sniff out angles, map components, find the right reporters, prepare executives, and drive results.
  • Proactively engage with media and insert Workday into the daily news cycle.
  • Navigate challenging media situations with poise and calm judgment.
  • Translate complex enterprise technology into compelling, accessible stories.
  • Set strategy and shape narratives, as well as roll up sleeves to land coverage.
  • Lead teams and thrive in the fast-paced rhythm of a public tech company or high-growth startup.
