About The Position

AutoNation is seeking a strategic-minded Director of Corporate Development to lead execution across the functions supporting the company’s M&A plan as it expands its business and develops new business lines. The role is responsible for the valuation, presentation, and closing of dealership acquisitions and divestitures, as well as other related acquisitions. The Director reports to the Vice President of Corporate Development within the organization of the EVP of Business Strategy and Development.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in management finance, investment banking, consulting, or other M&A-focused roles.
• Robust quantitative skills and experience building models and forecasts.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to develop high-quality presentations.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be willing to relocate to the South Florida area.

Nice To Haves

• Automotive industry experience is strongly preferred but not required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build detailed financial models and valuation scenarios for potential M&A transactions, working independently and directly with senior members of target companies.
• Evaluate key data and metrics and recommend valuations.
• Create presentations and investment conclusions for review by executive management and the Board of Directors.
• Support financial and operational due diligence for potential acquisitions, collaborating with functional areas, operating teams, and external advisors.
• Manage and support M&A closing and integration planning; may independently lead related processes with management guidance.
• Prepare post-closing true-ups and scorecards to evaluate return on investment.
• Support other Corporate Development projects, including new add points, capital project return analysis, and divestiture analysis.
• Lead execution across the functions needed to carry out the M&A plan.
