About The Position

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Compensation Director to shape compensation strategy for its Go to Market organization and North America region. This role will lead compensation strategy and advisory work for specific business units, support Marketing and Print, and own regional compensation matters for North America. The Director will oversee key compensation processes, evolve pay and incentive structures, and ensure compliance with North American regulations. This position reports to the Vice President, Compensation.

Requirements

  • Extensive compensation experience with a sales and marketing focus, typically 10+ years in compensation/reward roles.
  • Significant experience designing and managing compensation and incentive programs for sales, marketing, and associated go-to-market functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative skills and advanced Excel capability.
  • Proven experience managing compensation across US and Canadian legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a hybrid environment.
  • Skilled at listening, influencing, and explaining complex compensation topics to commercial and HR leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in SaaS or a similar technology environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience designing sales incentive plans, quota-setting frameworks, or go-to-market compensation structures.
  • Ideally actively engaged in the use of AI tools to support compensation work.
  • Track record of simplifying, automating, and streamlining compensation processes.
  • Experience developing and delivering AI-enabled solutions is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead compensation strategy and advice for Go to Market businesses, providing guidance and analysis to HR and business partners.
  • Own regional cross-business compensation matters for North America, ensuring consistency, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Own and deliver the Annual Compensation Process (ACP) for assigned businesses, overseeing data readiness, plan setup, and providing support.
  • Develop and maintain pay and incentive structures for sales, marketing, and go-to-market roles in partnership with various teams.
  • Govern compensation change activity in Workday, reviewing and approving requests, and collaborating on system improvements.
  • Act as a global reward partner and framework owner, supporting assigned business areas and owning specific job families.
  • Drive insight, compliance, and change by partnering with analysts, advising on regulations, and providing compensation expertise for M&A activities.
