About The Position

The Community Assessments Director provides enterprise leadership for Adventist Health's Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), Community Health Implementation Strategy (CHIS), Physician Needs Assessment (PNA), and community benefit reporting functions. This role maintains systemwide assessment strategy, governance, methodologies, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance, analytical rigor, and consistency across multiple markets. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to organizational leaders, translating community health and provider insights into strategic recommendations that inform planning, community investment, and community benefit activities. The Director leads a multidisciplinary team and collaborates with market leaders, shared services departments, and external partners to advance data-driven decision-making and organizational impact.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field: Required
  • Six years' relevant experience in community health, population health, or related fields: Required
  • Previous experience with Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and community benefit reporting: Required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with or in multi-market health systems: Preferred
  • Previous experience in epidemiology, analytics, or health services research: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for CHNAs, CHIS, PNAs, community health intelligence, and community benefit reporting across Adventist Health. Establish and oversee enterprise standards, methodologies, governance structures, and reporting processes. Monitor regulatory, industry, and community health trends and guide organizational responses and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements related to community health assessment and community benefit reporting. Serve as the enterprise authority for assessment methodology, reporting standards, and regulatory interpretation. Oversee quality assurance processes and provide final review and approval of assessments and community benefit reporting deliverables.
  • Direct the collection, integration, analysis, and interpretation of community health and physician workforce data. Translate assessment findings into actionable insights that support organizational planning, community investment, and community benefit strategies. Advance enterprise reporting, dashboards, and data resources that support informed decision-making.
  • Lead and develop staff responsible for assessment operations, community engagement, analytics, and reporting. Foster collaboration among market leaders, shared services teams, and external partners to advance community health priorities and organizational goals. Lead complex initiatives and resolve strategic, operational, and compliance-related challenges affecting assessment and reporting activities.
