About The Position

As the Commercial Logistics Lead for US Distribution, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring BioNTech's successful market entry and commercialization efforts in the United States. Reporting to the Director of Regional Logistics Operations US, you will lead the development and operational readiness of our logistics and distribution network. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring seamless product launches, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with BioNTech's mission to improve global health through innovative therapies. This role offers a dynamic environment where cross-functional collaboration and strategic execution are key to success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, 8 plus years in pharmaceutical or biotech logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations within the US market
  • Proven expertise in setting up or scaling distribution networks involving 3PLs, specialty distributors, group purchasing organizations, or wholesale channels
  • Strong understanding of US state licensing requirements and experience as a Designated Representative (License Holder)
  • Hands-on experience with Lead-to-Cash (L2C) processes, system integrations (e.g., ERP, EDI), and commercial launch readiness
  • Solid knowledge of GDP requirements, warehousing operations in regulated environments, and specialty distribution networks
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated project leadership skills across complex implementations involving multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end implementation and operational readiness of the US distribution network, including onboarding and managing specialty distributors and logistics partners
  • Act as the primary logistics interface for the US Commercial organization, aligning commercial strategies with operational execution
  • Lead the setup and integration of Lead-to-Cash (L2C) processes, ensuring smooth order fulfillment, invoicing flows, and data integration
  • Establish logistics processes, SOPs, and governance structures required for US market entry and commercialization
  • Oversee regulatory compliance across all US states, including acting as (or managing) the Designated Representative for state licenses under DSCSA regulations
  • Manage operational implementation of warehouse and transportation setups to ensure GDP compliance and scalability
