About the position
As the Finance Business Partner to the Chief Commercial Officer at Thumbtack, you will play a crucial role in managing resources and driving business growth. Your expertise will be valued as you work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize go-to-market strategies, evaluate performance, and make data-driven decisions. You will be responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for sales and partnership activities, as well as providing recommendations to optimize spend. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to translate financial analysis into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Support the business in planning and develop team targets and OKRs
- Lead revenue and margin forecasting for Partnerships
- Support deal modeling for partnership deals and work with the Partnership team to build business cases
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for sales and go-to-market activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business cases to optimize sales team go-to-market
- Oversee monthly/quarterly forecasting and reporting
- Work closely with Sales and Product to assess the impact of incentives, promotions, and pricing changes on revenue
- Monitor spend against budget and provide recommendations to optimize spend
- Analyze and synthesize financial results and communicate key messages to internal stakeholders
- Develop financial models that guide our strategic decision-making on key P&L drivers
Requirements
- 8+ years of FP&A experience
- Experience working with Business Development and Sales teams
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, using key tools within Excel and G-Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to tell the story beyond the numbers
- Ability to translate financial analysis into clear and insightful recommendations
- Experience working in Investment Banking or Management consulting (bonus points)
- Experience working for a consumer tech company, marketplace a plus (bonus points)
- Experience within a public company environment (bonus points)
